INTERNATIONAL. Pernod Ricard Travel Retail is set to roll out Absolut Orient Apple, a new flavour from Absolut, in major international duty free and travel retail outlets worldwide through the summer.
First launched in Frankfurt on 2 May, Absolut Orient Apple was created to combine “the savoury allure and thrill of east and west” with its innovative blend of apples and ginger, the company said. The new flavour is described as naturally sweet and fruity, with no added sugar or artificial flavour enhancers.
“It’s a flavour that really has a great range of mixing opportunities, for professional bartenders and for amateur cocktail enthusiasts,” said The Absolut Company Global Travel Retail Director Anders Olsson. “Absolut Orient Apple enriches all flavours quite sensationally, whether these flavours are sweet, sour or bitter. It’s a fantastic cocktail base to mix with a variety of juices and sodas.”
The Absolut Orient Apple bottle features a carved golden apple surrounded by an aura of white shimmering, transparent ginger leaves. When full, the golden apple appears to be floating due to the lens effect of the bottle, the company said.
The launch is backed by a 360-degree marketing campaign spanning all available media in duty free and travel retail outlets around the globe, including site-specific brand installations, tastings and events.
