To celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee, Royal Salute Limited Edition Diamond Jubilee Scotch whisky was launched in major Asian airports including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Korea in May 2012.
The exclusive offering is said to symbolise the brand’s heritage and offers travellers a chance to purchase a keepsake.
In keeping with the Diamond Jubilee theme, the limited edition is a porcelain flagon finished with a blue glaze and presented in a hand-crafted display box that showcases the bottle.
Highlighting the quality of the whisky, the Royal Salute Limited Edition Diamond Jubilee bottle is brought to life through “impactful on-shelf presence and innovative retail displays inspired by the light-reflective qualities of a diamond”, brand owner Pernod Ricard said.
Purchasers in selected airports will have the chance to win a diamond from Garrard, one of the world’s oldest and most renowned jewellers.
Pernod Ricard Asia Duty Free Marketing Director John O’Sullivan commented: “Royal Salute was created to mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, and we are honoured to continue this tradition by celebrating the Queen’s 60-year reign with the Royal Salute Diamond Jubilee Limited Edition. Travellers through Asia duty free will have the chance to purchase something truly memorable to mark this rare, historical occasion.”
Pernod Ricard Asia Duty Free Senior Brand Manager Kyung Min added: “The Royal Salute Diamond Jubilee launching campaign has delivered a stunningly visual within the airport and provided with interactive tools to engage with the international travellers to celebrate this commemorative milestone of the history together.
“The limited edition is backed by a strong concept and the Diamond Jubilee theme has been vividly brought to life across multiple touch points.”
Royal Salute Diamond Jubilee Limited Edition bottle is also available onboard Korean Air, Asiana and Cathay Pacific Airways.
Royal Salute Scotch whisky was created as a tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on her coronation in 1953.
