JAPAN. Choya is to launch its new Choya fruit liqueur in the Japanese duty free market in December.
Choya Yuzu will go on sale in a 700 ml bottle with a duty free price of JPY2000 (US$20).
“We are working to market the product into overseas duty free and domestic channels,” said Masahiko Kondo, General Manager Overseas Department for Choya.

The new product blends Choya’s hallmark Umeshu (ume fruit liqueur) with juice from the yuzu, a citrus fruit cultivated on the island of Shikoku.
“This thorny yet beautiful citrus infuses Umeshu with its floral wonders, and its citrus taste brings out the best in this luxury drink,” Kondo said.
“It provides a very refreshing taste and aroma.”
The newly designed bottle complements the liqueur’s simple, elegant feel, Kondo added.
Choya Yuzu can be enjoyed chilled, or as a long drink with mixers such as soda.
