GERMANY. Gebr Heinemann has launched a new mobile app with enhanced functions aimed at its travelling consumers. It is available now for iOS devices from the Apple App Store and from Google Play for Android devices.
Customers can use the app to visit the Heinemann online shop and to find out about the range of brands and offers from Heinemann Duty Free. Users of the app are also introduced to the Heinemann & Me customer motivation programme, and may use the app to register for the loyalty scheme. Following an update that adds enhanced features, registered Heinemann & Me members can continue to use the app as normal.
There’s also an integrated scanner that shoppers can use to scan price labels in store as well as QR codes on advertisements. This presents them with details on items for sale, which they can subsequently order.

The new Heinemann app also allows users to book a personal shopping assistant at a location of their choice, free of charge (participating Heinemann Duty Free shops are Hamburg, Frankfurt, Cologne, Salzburg, Vienna, Budapest and Oslo).
“The launch of the new Heinemann app is a further service we add to the concept of duty free shopping,” said Gebr Heinemann Marketing Director Markus Ettlin. “Our new services packages meet the needs of customers for flexible and mobile services while creating additional points of interaction that enable us to understand them even better.”
