Rituals Cosmetics introduces Tao Collection to travel retail

Rituals Cosmetics is introducing its new Tao Collection to the travel retail channel. The brand – which exhibited at last month’s IAADFS show in Orlando – will present the products to the trade at next month’s TFWA Asia Pacific event.

Tao was inspired by the ancient Chinese philosophy of Yin and Yang, and the desire to find balance, inner tranquillity and peace of mind. The six products in the line (plus gift set) feature traditional Chinese ingredients such as white lotus, Chinese peppermint and Yi Yi Ren – properties known to have a soothing, nourishing and balancing effect upon the body

Rituals’ new Tao collection is described as particularly appropriate for travel retail consumers

“This is a truly original creation with a very appealing product story behind it that is particularly appropriate for travel retail customers,” noted Neil Ebbutt, Rituals’ Wholesale Director for Travel Retail. “Even though we all look forward to our travels there is no denying it can sometimes be stressful and exhausting, so the products in the Tao collection couldn’t be more relevant. I don’t think there’s a product like it in travel retail and I believe it’s going to appeal very strongly to the travel retail customer,” he concluded.

A highlight of the Tao line is Qi – a light, cream serum. It contains Chinese peppermint and Yi Yi Ren, whose refreshing and softening properties are ideal for helping to relieve stress or fatigue, according to Rituals.

Qi is presented in a portable, palm-size 15ml dispenser with a rotating ballpoint tip, which releases a controlled flow of product when massaged onto the temple or wrist. There is a relaxing, tingling feeling on delivery.

“The sensation is immediate and, with its easy portability, I think this particular product has every chance of becoming a travel retail classic,” noted Ebbutt.

The Tao launch is being supported by high-profile consumer advertising in key domestic markets.
