Belo Horizonte Airport extends F&B tender deadline to November

BRAZIL. Aeroporto Internacional de Belo Horizonte (BH Airport) has extended by three months the deadline for submissions for its master food & beverage tender at Tancredo Neves International. The moves comes amid strong international interest in the contract, with a number of bidders asking for more time to establish local partnerships.

As reported last week, BH Airport has called for responses to six tenders, principally in F&B. Package 7 is the largest concession, with four units covering 1,216sq m, including a food court, bar and full-service restaurants. The original RFP deadline was 28 August but this has now been moved to 28 November. The same extension applies to the airport’s VIP lounge in International Departures (Package 5), while the company has also just launched the tender for the VIP lounge in Domestic Departures.

BH Airport Commercial Director René Baumann told The Moodie Report: “We suddenly have a very strong participation in this process. For the master contract in F&B only, we have five international candidates. Some of them have asked us to give them time to find the right partner here.

“For the lounges we have the same situation. I’m particularly happy, because it’s time to raise the level to international standards.”

Tancredo Neves International Airport is located in the municipality of Confins, in Belo Horizonte’s metropolitan area, some 38km to the north of the city. Said to be one of the most modern airports in Brazil, it is the main gateway to the State of Minas Gerais, which has a population of over 20 million.
