The new family area is part of a wider expansion and refurbishment in Terminal 3 |
An Arabian Desert-inspired family area has opened in Dubai International’s Terminal 3.
Located at Concourse B’s Zen Garden between gates B7 and B8, it includes a children’s play area with a range of equipment, television screens featuring children’s programming, and baby changing rooms.
Dubai International owner and operator Dubai Airports’ new area has been designed to resemble the Arabian Desert, with the topography of the floor appearing as a series of sand dunes for children to walk around in. A climbing area and interactive games zone also feature.
New “conversational-style” seating has also been installed in the family area, with both individual and group seats.
Dubai Airports said the main transfer area in Concourse B had also been expanded and refurbished to provide a more welcoming environment for passengers, with more seating, redesigned washrooms and improved signage, while the capacity of the transfer area has also been increased to accommodate more passengers during peak periods.
“These new facilities are the first of a series of changes we are making across the terminals at Dubai International to create welcoming spaces for the comfort and convenience of our customers,” said Dubai Airports Executive Vice President – Operations Chris Garton.
