US. Umair Ansari has been appointed by Estée Lauder Companies as Vice President and General Manager, Middle East, Africa and India, Travel Retail EMEA, effective yesterday (1 July).
Ansari, who has been with Estée Lauder since 2004, will be responsible for driving continued growth and profitability in travel retail across the Middle East, Africa and India. He will look to enhance the standing of Estée Lauder’s portfolio of brands and expand distribution by cultivating relationships with retail partners throughout the regions.
Since joining Estée Lauder in 2004, Ansari has held positions of increasing responsibility with the Global Supply Chain and Global Business Planning teams. In 2015, he joined the Travel Retail Worldwide division as Vice President of Strategy & Business Development.
In 2017, Ansari was appointed as Vice President / General Manager, Travel Retail Worldwide for Aramis and Designer Fragrances, Origins, Smashbox, GLAMGLOW and BECCA. An Estée Lauder Companies statement added: “In this role, Umair has demonstrated a strategic and collaborative commercial approach as he managed his brand portfolio’s varying category focuses, consumer targets and distribution maturity.”
For the new position, Ansari and his family will relocate to Dubai this summer.
