Bradley International Airport unveils new dining concepts and kiosk retail

US. The Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA) has revealed new details of its expanding concessions programme at Bradley International Airport. The airport operator announced the introduction of six new dining options, two new small business kiosks and three “refreshed shopping experiences” during 2020.

CAA has partnered with new and existing airport concessionaires to introduce the majority of the planned openings. The concessionaires, which include HMSHost, Faber and All About Foods Group, will be financing the new concepts as well as the updates to current offerings, the airport authority said.

The majority of the new openings will be located near Gates 20 to 30, and CAA said the other concession additions and updates “will bring new flavour” to the food court area.

The fresh F&B additions include two offerings from new concessionaire HMSHost. They are a Starbucks coffee shop, which will be introduced post-TSA screening in the food court area, and La Familia Tacos + Tequila, a full-service Latin fusion restaurant and bar experience which will be added near Gate 25.

Another new Bradley International concessionaire, All About Foods Group, will be unveiling three new F&B enterprises. They are Jamba, which will be offering healthy smoothies, bowls and juices adjacent to the iStore, near the entrance to Gates 20 to 30; hand-baked pretzels specialist Auntie Anne’s, close to Gate 24; and ice cream store Carvel, also in the vicinity of Gate 24.

Established concessionaire Faber will be opening a new and expanded Dunkin’, close to the Gates 20 to 30 entrance. CAA said that Bradley International will be the first airport to host Dunkin’s new brand and expanded menu offering.

In retail news, CAA also announced that clothing specialist Brooks Brothers and nearby news store CNBC will be undergoing renovations to bring a fresh new look.

Finally, the airport’s small business kiosk programme has two confirmed new additions. They are Hartford Prints!, a retailer from Hartford, Connecticut, which will be trading letterpress stationery, urban streetwear, and locally-sourced goods; and Springfield, Massachusetts brand Hot Oven Cookies, which is described by CAA as a vintage-modern cookie company specialising in scratch-made, fresh-baked cookies in whimsical and innovative flavours.

The two kiosks will be located near the food court area, alongside existing retailer Gineva Jewelry, a family-owned business that offers high-quality, handcrafted Murano Glass Jewelry products. CAA said Gineva Jewelry will be transitioning to a new kiosk and will reopen with a revamped look.

Travellers at Bradley International will soon have their food & beverage options considerably widened

Connecticut Airport Authority Executive Director Kevin A. Dillon said: “We are reimagining travel through Bradley International Airport and, in that regard, we have placed a significant focus on taking our concession experience to the next level.”

He added: “The vision to transform our concession programme will result in a strategic blend of Bradley’s existing favourites, augmented by new, popular national brands and exciting additions of local flair. Together, they will make up the perfect combination of options to enhance the passenger experience, ensuring that everyone loves the journey through Bradley International Airport.”
