UAE. Lagardère Travel Retail has introduced homegrown tea brand Project Chaiwala at Dubai International Airport.
This marks the first time the UAE-founded Project Chaiwala has brought its Karak Chai experience to an airport. It is now operating across all concourses in Terminal 3.
Project Chaiwala is featured within Treehouse Juicery in Concourse A, while in Concourse B it is part of The Daily DXB food hall alongside other local favourites such as Jailbird and St. Mia. In Concourse C, travellers can find Project Chaiwala at café S34.

The menu includes classic Karak Chai alongside variations such as the Molten Karak, a malty chai with cocoa; and Karak Arabia, an iced chai infused with saffron.
The outlets serve the brand’s signature savoury snacks including the Desi Smashmosa (a deconstructed samosa), paratha wraps with fillings such as butter chicken and Omani Chips, as well as Project Chaiwala’s popular Chilli Cheese Toastie.

The menu also includes sweet treats: Dunkables, Cardamom Cake, Banana Bread and Orange Chocolate Chip Muffin.
Passengers can also purchase exclusive merchandise and retail packs at the outlets, designed to enjoy Karak Chai on-the-go or as a souvenir or gift from Dubai.
“We are thrilled to partner with Project Chaiwala to bring their authentic chai experience to DXB,” said Lagardère Travel Retail UAE CEO Vadim Motlik.

“Their mission has been simple: to reintroduce chai to the rest of the world and where better to do that than at the world’s busiest airport? Knowing that thousands of people will enjoy the experience of drinking a freshly brewed cup of chai in our spaces is very exciting.
“Our aim is to continually elevate the traveller experience. By integrating Project Chaiwala into our outlets we are creating Sense of Place, bringing this traditional experience to global passengers at Dubai International Airport.”

Project Chaiwala Co-Founder Ahmed Kazim commented: “We are incredibly excited to bring Project Chaiwala’s unique chai experience to Dubai International Airport’s bustling environment.
“This collaboration with Lagardère Travel Retail allows us to share our passion for chai with travellers worldwide.
“Project Chaiwala was started to celebrate the tea-drinking culture of the UAE. As a homegrown brand, we believe in blending traditional roots with bold, innovative flavours to create a chai experience that’s both nostalgic and new.

“Through our experiential locations and a mix of handcrafted travel retail products, we look forward to welcoming global travellers to taste the multicultural heritage of the UAE and be a part of our journey.”
Dubai Airports Head of Restaurants & Beverages John Rogers said: “Dubai International serves as a gateway to the world, and we see every interaction as an opportunity to introduce travellers to Dubai’s vibrant culture.

“With Project Chaiwala, we’ve brought a distinct, homegrown experience to Terminal 3, blending authenticity with a modern twist.
“By curating local brands, we are not only enhancing the options available at the airport but also sharing a piece of Dubai with every guest to showcase the best of our city.”
