EUROPE. Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines have started a trial of the SKYdeals platform on their short and medium-haul routes.
As of 30 September, customers can shop for real-time, exclusive and personalised deals on more than 1,000 products and services from over 80 brands during their flight. The platform is also offering occasional flash and fly-over sales, based on the country being flown over by the plane.
A contact-free shopping experience Customers flying with Lufthansa or Austrian Airlines can access SKYdeals for free by connecting to the FlyNet portal with their own device. They will then pay for the items on their phone/tablet before the item is delivered to their home. |
SKYdeals said the deal gives its partner brands access to a new, captive, premium and international audience. The platform can be used for pre-testing new products, clearance sales or for brands to target new demographics, the company added.
“We are particularly proud of this partnership with Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines,” commented SKYdeals CEO & Co-Founder Julien Sivan.
“SKYdeals not only offers a new way to buy and sell products onboard, but also a real and exciting new inflight entertainment experience. This is concrete proof of Lufthansa Group’s interest in innovative products related to passengers’ experiences.”
SKYdeals is currently also available on Air France and La Compagnie flights.
