Sim Local names Ross O’Connor as Head of Commercial Development

UK. Sim Local, one of the world’s largest SIM providers in the travel sector, has announced Ross O’Connor as its new Head of Commercial Development.

O’Connor’s remit is to manage and strengthen existing UK operator relationships while also focusing on the onboarding of new global operators, as Sim Local expands its retail footprint in Europe and beyond.

Ross O’Connor joins Sim Local at a time when it has just unveiled a bright new look for its stores, including this one at Heathrow Airport

The new recruit’s most recent role was as Lead Partner Manager at telecommunications and internet service provider Three UK. Here, he was responsible for trading relationships with key distribution and retail partners for the resale of Three’s products and services in the UK and abroad. 

His earlier experience includes sales, marketing and commercial roles for major companies including Virgin Mobile, Unilever and Johnson & Johnson.

As reported, Sim Local recently revealed a new look for its stores and point of sale materials at London Heathrow Airport.

The company now has points of sale at over 150 locations worldwide. In addition to its standalone retail outlets in Europe, Sim Local works with affiliate partners such as WHSmith and its electronics store brand InMotion in airports globally.
