“A realm where science and magic meet” – New Swarovski store shimmers at Mumbai Duty Free

INDIA. Jewellery and crystal house Swarovski has partnered with Mumbai Duty Free to open a store at Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport Terminal 2.

The 80sq m space showcases Swarovski’s classic collections and is the first airport store to reflect the latest design concept under the brand’s Lux Ignite strategy.

Swarovski General Manager India & South East Asia Lars Schmidt said: “India is a key market for Swarovski and travel retail is an integral part of our strategy to further cement our position as one of the top luxury and jewellery brands in India.

“After the most recent new openings at Bangalore Airport and Mumbai Airport we are already working on the next travel retail openings in India, including Navi Mumbai International Airport in 2024.”

Each of the store entrances reflects the shimmering beauty of crystal and complements Mumbai’s local aesthetics.

The metallic finishes and fluted glass combined with chrome and silk touches throughout add further allure to the store design.

Swarovski said this new concept is a “combination of luxury and wonder to offer passengers an unparalleled shopping experience.”

An alluring ornamental tree structure is a key design element. The tree’s intricate branches are inspired by the natural environment, highlighting the brand’s commitment to sustainability.

To encourage exploration and self-expression, different areas of the stores are colour-blocked in Swarovski’s signature new brand hues.

The space also features octagonal shelves adorning the walls to display products and patterns.

Swarovski Creative Director Giovanna Engelbert said: “Our new retail landscape is an incredible ode to the creativity and the result of Swarovski’s strong new vision, a realm where science and magic meet. Playful, aware and always boldly chic our aim is to reflect desires and dreams in the physical space of our stores, and to underline our new age of crystal living.” ✈
