SOUTH KOREA. Today’s selection, snapped by Martin Moodie this afternoon, is a first showing on The Moodie Davitt Report of the Kyung Bok Kung Duty Free arrivals shop at Busan Gimhae International Airport.

It’s a compact store, positioned unfortunately at the end of the baggage hall, though signage earlier alerts passengers to the offer.
Arrivals duty free is new to South Korea having only been introduced in May 2020, initially at Incheon International Airport.

How the channel fares in future as Koreans become familiar with the concept will be interesting to see. But in the near term, it looks like only a modest addition to the world’s biggest duty free market.

Certainly though there appears to be no lack of visitors to the Republic’s second city. The immigration line for foreigners today was 11 rows deep, frustrating for passengers but conversely a welcome sight for a city starved of visitors for so long during the pandemic. ✈
