SINGAPORE. Changi Airport has launched a series of activities and promotions to celebrate the Chinese New Year at its various dining and retail outlets across its terminals.
Dining venues that are part of the holiday promotional campaign include Peach Garden at Terminal 2, which serves traditional Chinese New Year courses such as the Golden Premium Traditional Pen Cai (braised ingredients), Collagen Dragonfruit Yu Sheng (raw fish salad) with Salmon, and Braised Pig’s Trotter Rice Vermicelli.
The Paradise Dynasty (T3) offers guests the Abundance Takeaway Set, which includes pen cai and yu sheng as well as Fortune Lotus Leaf Glutinous Rice and Auspicious Black Truffle Kampong Chicken.
For halal options, Swensen’s (T3) has its pineapple-flavoured Fortune Cat Ice Cream Cake, and Central Thai (T3) also offers yu sheng and set menus. More halal food options are available at Baba Nyonya (T3), Penang Culture and Woke Ramen (T1).
Members of Changi Rewards can enjoy the Festive Feasting promotion at any participating restaurant and receive S$15 worth of Changi Rewards e-vouchers with a minimum spend of S$80.
Dining establishments at Changi Jewel are also joining the Lunar New Year promotion.
Tanyu Exclusive will serve its CNY Prosperity Set (from S$128.80), which is available for dine-in only between 9 and 14 February. The holiday set menu includes Tanyu’s classic grilled fish complemented with the diner’s preferred flavour, a seasonal CNY Abundance Combo with abalone, scallops and money bags, and signature cold dishes and snacks.
Customers who dine in at Coucou Hotpot.Brew between 10 and 24 February will receive a complimentary yu sheng (Cantonese-style raw fish salad). Reservations must be made from now to 4 February.
Local patisserie Nesuto will be serving pineapple tarts as part of its seasonal collection, as well as Browned Butter Vanilla Pineapple Tarts (S$29), Roasted Tea (Hojicha) Pineapple Tarts (S$29) or the Chinese 5-spice Pineapple Tarts (S$29).
Other participating restaurants include Terrace Kitchen (T1), O’ Coffee Club and NamNam (T3), as well as dining venues at Jewel such as Putien, Hitoyoshi Izakaya, White Restaurant, Song Fa Bak Kut Teh, Din Tai Fung, Soup Restaurant and Luke’s Lobster.
Guests can also enjoy discounts when shopping at retail outlets at all terminals.
‘Enjoy Nine Days of Savings’
For nine days in January (12-14, 19-21, and 26-28), Changi Rewards members can double their savings with the Save 2XGST promotion at participating retailers in public areas.
On top of 9% GST-absorbed prices, shoppers are offered an additional -9% off for a minimum spend of S$30 during this period. Non-members can sign up for the free Changi Rewards loyalty programme to enjoy these deals. Shoppers who spend a minimum of S$60 with Mastercard via Changi Pay will also receive a S$9 Changi Pay return e-voucher.
Changi’s exclusive Prosperity Red Packets are available to those who spend a minimum of S$80 (S$100 for supermarkets) in public areas. This year’s motifs feature symbols such as the dragon, fortune cat, koi (carp), and more. An additional set will be given to those using Mastercard or the Changi Pay digital wallet. The special red packets are available until 24 February while stocks last.
Three lucky winners of the Be a Changi Millionaire social media giveaway will receive S$80 worth of Changi Pay vouchers and two sets of Changi Prosperity Red Packets. More details will be announced via Changi’s social media channels on 14 January.
Shoppers who spend a minimum of S$50 (or S$35 if you pay by Mastercard) at participating outlets of the public areas in a single same-day receipt can redeem two hours of free parking.
Holiday gifting options
For those shopping for gifts, the new Discovering Best of Singapore Brands retail cluster at Jewel Changi Level 1 showcases an array of products including Kim’s Duet’s Prosperous Pairing Gift Box (S$28.80), which contains an assortment of its local coffee and tea steep bags paired with crispy you tiao (dough fritters) chips.
Keong Saik Bakery will be offering a range of buy-3-get-1-free holiday snacks until 31 January, including its Almond Florentine (S$25) and Hei Bi (spicy dried shrimps) Cookies (S$25). Kele’s signature Pineapple Tarts and Pineapple Balls are also available in a variety of flavours (matcha, osmanthus, tangerine and more) at -10% off with no minimum spend until 25 January.
Customers using their UOB cards can take advantage of a S$10 Jewel voucher, with a minimum spend of S$150 (maximum three same-day receipts). Those paying with their Mastercard can receive a box of Kele pineapple tarts (worth S$18.80) with a minimum spend of S$188 (maximum of three same-day receipts).
An exclusive Jewel mahjong set worth S$388 will be given to shoppers who purchase S$1,600 worth of items at Jewel (accumulated during the promotion period) on the CapitaStar app.
The promotions also run across Changi’s ecommerce platform iShopChangi, offering site-wide deals including up to -60% savings and other additional discounts for those using promotional codes at check-out.
A complimentary set of iShopChangi Dragon Prosperity Red Packets will be available to those who shop with a minimum purchase of S$59.
In addition, iShopChangi offers a bespoke gift-wrapping service and on-demand delivery, which is applicable for selected items. The service comes with a personalised card and customers can opt to have their orders delivered within four hours of purchase, at a fee. Terms and conditions apply.
Festive displays at Changi
Changi is offering a traditional Chinese New Year experience at all four of its terminals. A dragon-themed horticultural display is on show at the T1 public arrival hall as part of the ‘Be a Changi Millionaire’ campaign.
More gifting options are available at pop-up shops in the public areas of T2 and T3, including festive t-shirts and merchandise of popular characters such as Miffy and others from Disney, Sanrio, and more.
Jewel is also offering a vibrant Lunar New Year experience with abundant and beautiful floral displays. The Source Pool at Canopy Park will showcase an animated dragon family display, with photo opportunity for travellers.
The entertainment complex at the Shiseido Forest Valley will feature a Lion Dance and LED Dragon Dance performances as well as Light & Sound Shows daily at 8pm from 9 to 12 February.
From 1 to 25 February, local residents can enjoy -20% off individual attractions at Canopy Park (excludes Canopy Park and Bundle Deals). Visitors can also purchase any PlayAtJewel Family Membership plans and receive up to S$70 worth of Jewel gift vouchers.
More retail offers
Category-specific deals are also available for passengers travelling via Changi Airport until 29 February. These include a chance to win up to S$888 worth of vouchers and gifts at the Gashapon Sure-Win machines when shoppers purchase S$250 or more cosmetics and perfume items at Shilla.
Fortune cookies and live bottle painting are available at Shilla’s T1 and T2 stores from 1 to 4 February.
Customers can take advantage of the New Year promotions and services by luxury brands. These include a chance to win a limited-edition Giorgio Armani mahjong set, redeem Elizabeth Arden x FeiLong merchandise, try bottle personalisation for YSL’s Libre fragrance, or Kiehl’s facial and Sisley’s scalp analysis services.
