David Wilson to step down from William Grant & Sons travel retail leadership role

David Wilson has made a stellar contribution to the travel retail sector

William Grant & Sons Managing Director Global Travel Retail David Wilson, one of the channel’s most experienced and respected executives, has decided to step down from the role, effective the end of February.

Wilson, who assumed the position with the Glenfiddich-to-Hendrick’s producer in August 2021, told The Moodie Davitt Report, “It has been a privilege to work with amazing people and brands over the last four decades [three of them in the drinks industry -Ed], and I know I am leaving a great team and business with momentum at William Grants & Sons.

“I am looking forward to the next chapter and I will of course remain close and active in the spirits business in a number of ways. I leave with my best wishes and thanks to William Grants & Sons and for their continued success.”

Before joining William Grant & Sons, Wilson was Managing Director for two years at Quality Spirits International, having earlier spent almost five years as Beam Suntory Global Travel Retail Managing Director.

Before that he spent nearly 11 years in various senior roles at Morrison Bowmore Distillers. ✈
