HONG KONG, CHINA. In big breaking news, Airport Authority Hong Kong today issued a tender for 14 units in Hong Kong International Airport’s (HKIA) luxury zone.
The tender (advertised on the home page of The Moodie Davitt Report.com*) embraces opportunities across several luxury categories including fashion, watches & jewellery, shoes, fine food, and any other luxury concept of a bidder’s choice.
The winning concepts will join an acclaimed and extensive zone currently housing 40 top-tier luxury brands across different categories

Four of the five categories out to bid involve five-year terms with luxury fine-food being a three-year contract.
Unit sizes range from 366sq ft to 1,507sq ft. Existing brands in the zone are allowed to tender for neighbouring units for expansion
Each brand can only be represented by one tenderer – either the brand owner or an authorised retailer.
Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) said it is targeting to add strong luxury brands to further enrich HKIA’s luxury retail offering.
Based on a commitment to upgrade its facilities and services to create a fresh and compelling travel experience, the airport company completed the refurbishment of the East Hall Luxury Zone in 2021.
It houses three new duplex flagship stores – Hermès, Louis Vuitton and Chanel, together with a diverse line-up of luxury brands reopened at the time.
Airport Authority Hong Kong Executive Director, Commercial Cissy Chan said: “We look forward to further strengthening our luxury retail offerings in HKIA to better serve passengers’ needs and elevate their experience in our airport.”
AAHK emphasised the marketing and promotion initiatives it has put in place to actively support current and future tenants.

Rewarding loyalty
Primary among them is the HKairport Rewards loyalty programme, which was launched in November 2022 when the first wave of stores, mostly luxury brands, was re-opened. The programme offers passengers a well-rounded shopping experience with an array of attractive rewards and exclusive privileges.
HKairport Rewards members earn 1 Reward Point for every HK$1 (US$0.12) spent at HKIA’s shops, restaurants and HKairportShop.com, along with a range of exclusive year-round privileges and ‘Birthday Delights’.
In addition, members can redeem their Reward Points for airport e-Coupons (the more you spend, the more you earn).
The scheme has around 400,000 members already.
Luxury Concierge
To maintain the Luxury Zone’s long-established reputation as a premier shopping destination for global travellers and to keep up the airport’s spirit of reinvention and blend of luxurious experiences, HKIA has launched the Luxury Concierge service.
This allows travellers to browse and reserve their fashion favourites from an extensive selection of international luxury brands before arriving at HKIA (https://hkairportshop.com/concierge_en/)
With HKIA’s Luxury Concierge service, luxury aficionados can explore, reserve and purchase luxury favourites online ahead of the trip.
Experienced brand representatives on the Concierge team assist and connect customers via WhatsApp, WeChat and video call to shop and reserve their desired pieces, bringing “a never-before luxury shopping convenience”, AAHK said.
Many globally renowned luxury brands are partnering with the Luxury Concierge service. They include Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen, Bally, Bottega Veneta, Breitling, Bvlgari, Chaumet, Dior, Gucci, IWC, Jaegar-LeCoultre, Jimmy Choo, Longchamp, Loro Piana, Panerai, Piaget, Roger Vivier, Saint Laurent, Stuart Weizman, Tiffany & Co, Tory Burch, Tumi and Versace.
“With more prestigious brands soon to join the Luxury Concierge, HKIA is set to be an unmatched shopping destination for sophisticated trendsetters,” the company said.
