Weitnauer Group expands South America operations with new Uruguay subsidiary

URUGUAY. Global distribution company Weitnauer Group has entered Uruguay travel retail and opened its subsidiary in the region, strategically positioned to cater to the market along the Brazilian border.

Currently the group works across multi-category products and brand building in over 100 countries.

Weitnauer Group noted: “From fragrances & beauty to premium spirits, tobacco, accessories and confectionery, our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction has always been paramount.”

The new subsidiary will act as a gateway to the Uruguayan borders and the expanding market along the Brazilian border, enhancing the group’s logistical capabilities in South America.

Weitnauer Uruguay – led by Vice President Americas Jonathan Romano – will function as an operational relay base linked directly to the company hub in Miami, enhancing stock coverage and reducing lead times.

Weitnauer Group President Eric Laurent said: “The Americas is a region that excites us tremendously as a business and is a natural expansion of our footprint in North America, from our Miami base.

As we embark on this exciting new chapter, we are delighted that many leading brands in all categories have already entrusted us with the management of their distribution and brand equity in key markets in the region.

“Behind our operational capability is a consumer-centric strategy that examines and analyses the growth potential for specific brands and categories in new markets, ensuring that when we launch a brand on behalf of its parent company, the conditions are optimal for success.

“This approach is one of our founding principals to building long-term, flourishing partnerships. Fundamentally, we nurture, protect and respect the luxury brands we represent as if they are our own.

“I’m also delighted to confirm that Uruguay is the first of many more planned expansions in our global network.” ✈
