Loch Lomond Group partners with Dubai Duty Free for limited-edition single malt release

UAE. Independent distiller Loch Lomond Group has partnered with Dubai Duty Free to unveil an exclusive single cask bottling at Dubai International Airport.

The unpeated single malt, limited to 306 bottles, is available to shoppers in the Dubai Duty Free stores in Terminal 3 departures.

The whisky, priced at US$100, has an ABV of 58.5%. Distilled in 2014, the single malt was initially aged in first-fill ex-bourbon casks for seven years. It was then transferred to second-fill oloroso hogshead barrels for a further 15 months.

The honey and vanilla flavours of the bourbon barrels complement the fruity spirit, creating a balanced whisky.

On the palate, notes of toffee apple and lemon are balanced with vanilla oak and a hint of dark chocolate. Baked orange and marzipan follow, leading to a finish of spiced ground ginger.

Loch Lomond Group Managing Director – Global Travel Retail Luke Maga said: “Dubai Duty Free is a strategic partner of ours as we seek to expand the presence of Loch Lomond Group’s single malts at one of the world’s busiest international airports.

“Single cask formats play a key role in the growth of Loch Lomond Group’s business, supporting our core portfolio and addressing consumer demand for exclusive, unique bottlings.”

Dubai Duty Free Senior Vice President – Purchasing Sharon Beecham remarked: “We are delighted to partner with Loch Lomond on this exclusive single cask bottling, which is popular among whisky connoisseurs.

Last year, Loch Lomond Distillery was ‘the most-awarded distillery’ at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2023, picking up multiple double gold and gold awards for its malt whisky brands.

In 2023, International Wine & Spirits Research named it the world’s fastest-growing top 25 single malt brand for the second time in three years.

Since partnering with The R&A in 2018, Loch Lomond Whiskies is once again supporting the 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon in Scotland as the Official Spirit of The Open this year.
