Lagardère Travel Retail UK & Ireland announces new leadership team 

UK/IRELAND. Lagardère Travel Retail UK & Ireland has unveiled further details of its new leadership team.

This development underscores the company’s commitment to investing in the UK and Ireland with a focus on operational excellence and sustainable growth, the company said.

As reported, Peter Newbould, who has over 25 years of experience in retail and travel retail, has been appointed CEO for UK & Ireland. Newbould’s extensive background includes international leadership roles at WHSmith, InMotion and Harding+.

Erika Baranscher has been named Food & Beverage Director, bringing over 25 years of expertise in retail, contract catering, hotels and restaurants. Her previous roles at Aramark and Avoca will help the company enhance the dining experiences offered in the UK & Ireland, Lagardère Travel Retail

Gail Downing, appointed as Human Resources Director, brings experience from senior human resources roles across various companies including Matchesfashion, Pandora and HSBC.

Tim Ward joins as Retail Director. With a background at London City Airport and the McArthurGlen Group, Ward is expected to drive customer satisfaction and operational excellence in the company’s retail operations.

Etienne Leutenegger has been appointed IT Director. Leutenegger has been with Lagardère Travel Retail since 2008, contributing to the group’s expansion in several countries. His technical expertise and leadership within the UK & Ireland management team since 2012 will support the company’s innovation drive.

Liam Grundy, appointed as Commercial Director, joined the company in 2022 after a decade with Manchester Airport Group. Grundy’s strategic experience, including his contributions to the redevelopment of London Stansted Airport, will be critical in shaping Lagardère’s commercial and growth strategies.

Michael Attali assumes the role of Finance Director. Since joining Lagardère in 2016, Attali has played key roles in international business operations and special projects, including leading various M&A activities. His financial leadership will play an important role in driving the company’s fiscal strategies.

As reported, Lagardère Travel Retail Chairman and CEO Dag Rasmussen is joining an outstanding programme for The Trinity Forum, which takes place on 5-6 November in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The Trinity Forum is owned by The Moodie Davitt Report and organised in partnership with Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific & Middle East and ACI World.

The event, to be co-hosted by Airports Corporation of Vietnam and Imex Pan Pacific Group, is the world’s most influential travel retail and airport commercial revenues conference. ✈
