cdf Haikou celebrates the Mid-Autumn festival with promotional blend of culture, tourism and shopping

CHINA. cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Centre has bounced back from the recent impact of Super Typhoon Yagi in the north of Hainan island to unveil a wide-ranging experiential campaign in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival (17 September).

By integrating cultural and tourism elements with diversified entertainment and shopping experiences, the campaign is designed to drive consumption during the holiday period.

To celebrate international superstar Kanye West’s (renamed ‘Ye’ in 2021) World Tour Listening Session at Haikou’s Wuyuanhe Stadium today (15 September),  the travel retailer is offering various benefits for fans, including free vouchers, drinks tastings, and shuttle buses to and from the event.

An immersion into whisky culture

In a much-anticipated development, the cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Centre Whisky Museum is about to open, CDFG announced this week.

Described as China’s first one-stop whisky experience museum, the attraction will offer the dual opportunity to taste a range of fine whiskies while experiencing a deep immersion in whisky culture.

China Duty Free Group (CDFG) has also partnered with British fashion brand Burberry to offers consumers ‘Mid-Autumn Festival Sweet Gift’ chocolates at check-in.

On 16-17 September a Chinese costume parade in the Aura Skyline Secret Forest will portray a journey through ancient and modern times. The event is designed to underline the feelings of reunion and harmony conveyed by the Mid-Autumn Festival in ancient culture.

In addition, many renowned brands, including Coach, La Mer and pop-up stores from on-trend national sports brands have joined in the Mid-Autum Festival fun.
