Duty Zero by cdf to unveil perfumes & cosmetics-led store at Macau Airport after contract success

MACAU, CHINA. Duty Zero by cdf is set to soft open its newly awarded perfumes & cosmetics concession at Macau International Airport on 11 November after parent company China Duty Free Group (CDFG) signed the contract with Macau International Airport Company (CAM) earlier this month.

The business, tendered last December, is currently operated by a joint venture between CDFG and King Power Macau but this time both parties bid separately.

The 960sq m ‘one-stop travel shopping destination’ will be implemented in two phases. After the soft opening, full brand operations are planned for the end of April 2026.

Duty Zero by cdf will offer a wide variety of products in addition to perfumes & cosmetics, including fashion accessories, food and health supplements, toys, sunglasses, luggage and other travel goods.

CDFG said the contract victory marks the completion of the company’s integrated ‘resort-tourist attraction-airport’ ecosystem.

The airport contract triumph follows the successful operation of the cdf Macau Grand Lisboa Palace and cdf Macau Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro stores (the latter within M8, a landmark commercial complex that anchors Macau’s Historic Centre redevelopment, located in front of Senado Square and 50 metres from the Ruins of St Paul’s – a UNESCO World Heritage Site), CDFG noted.

The new airport store means CDFG has achieved full coverage across three core customer touchpoints in the Special Administrative Region, the company added.

The July opening of cdf Macau Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro demonstrated CDFG’s continued investment in the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

“This successful bid and contract signing reflects the Macau market’s strong endorsement of CDF Group’s brand management capabilities, global sourcing resources and exceptional service standards,” the retailer added.

Duty Zero by cdf Macau aims to be the ideal final shopping destination before visitors depart Macau, fulfilling all consumers needs from travel essentials to premium gifts for loved ones, CDFG commented.

Customers visiting Duty Zero by cdf in Macau can enjoy the global benefits of CDFG membership. Members will be able to accumulate points through purchases, which can be redeemed globally across CDFG stores.

Members also receive a range of special offers, birthday gifts, and enjoy diversified value-added services covering travel, hotels, attractions and more. “CDF Group is committed to creating extraordinary shopping and lifestyle experiences throughout members’ journeys,” the company stated.

Deepening the Greater Bay presence

The success of Duty Zero by cdf at Macau International Airport represents a significant step in CDFG’s deepening of its Greater Bay Area strategy and continued investment in the Macau market, the retailer added.

With passenger traffic at Macau International Airport steadily recovering, CDFG said it will use its presence there as a new starting point to actively promote synergies among its three stores.

“Through shared membership benefits and coordinated marketing activities, we aim to build a comprehensive consumer ecosystem for global travellers to and from Macau, offering a more convenient and premium one-stop duty-free shopping experience,” CDFG observed.

The company pledged to continuously refine its product offerings and services while expanding its travel retail operations across all Macau border points.

This initiative aims to bolster Macau’s development as a ‘World Tourism and Leisure Centre’ and enrich travellers’ consumption experiences, CDFG concluded.
