SWITZERLAND. Bvlgari has partnered with Avolta to open a renovated flagship boutique at Zurich Airport.

The 130sq m airside store celebrates Bvlgari’s Roman heritage and takes inspiration from the Eternal City’s architecture, light and materials.

Signature design elements include green marble, a hue which also pays homage to the brand’s gem stones; and the eight-pointed Bvlgari star, which features prominently at the boutique’s entrance. The star is a motif from the fashion house’s flagship on Via Condotti, Rome.

Inside, vertical fluted walls evoke ancient Roman columns, while cabochon-cut countertops pay homage to archival Bvlgari designs from the 1960s. Furnishings crafted from Travertino Navona stone and Orange Luce di Roma lining further add to the store’s Italian aesthetic.

A standout design element is a Murano glass Serpenti chandelier designed by Italian glassmaker Venini, a visual tribute to one of Bvlgari’s key lines. The chandelier is crafted from over 300 crystal wands fashioned in triedri shapes (crystal shapes in trihedron used in glass sculpture).

The boutique offers the brand’s fine jewellery, leathergoods and watches lines. Highlights include the Serpenti, B.Zero1 and Tubogas lines.

Artwork by Andy Warhol – who had a strong connection with the brand in the 1970s and 1980s – features prominently throughout the store.

Avolta Director Global Fashion, Luxury, WJA and Sunglasses Manuela Facheris commented, “Together with Bvlgari and Zurich Airport, we’ve brought to life a sanctuary of Roman heritage, design and craftsmanship in the heart of Zurich Airport.

“This new boutique exemplifies what Avolta stands for: transforming every journey into something extraordinary and this stunning Bvlgari boutique at Zurich Airport does just that. We are proud to welcome travellers into this immersive world of timeless luxury.”

“Today, we are proud to open a new temple in a key European airport,” commented Bvlgari Travel Retail Europe Director Gabriele Arlotta. “We will be able to welcome our worldwide clients, offer them a glimpse of Rome and let them discover our latest creations during their visit at Zurich Airport in an environment reflecting our entire DNA and hospitality values.”
