SOUTH KOREA. Shinsegae Duty Free has opened a dedicated pop-up store, showcasing fresh local produce at its K-Food Promotional Hall in Incheon International Airport Terminal 1.
The store highlights a selection of items, including Jeju tangerines, strawberries and Shine Muscat grapes, providing travellers with what is described as ‘a taste of Korea’.
The initiative was launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation.
It aims to highlight the premium quality of Korean fruits to international visitors and provide them with thoughtful gifting options.
The store also features other fresh products, such as cherry tomatoes, which are packaged for gifting.
Jeju tangerines, strawberries and Shine Muscat grapes, which are gaining popularity overseas, are featured as premium varieties, supported by Korea’s advanced export infrastructure to ensure steady supply and premium quality.
These renowned Korean delicacies are being exported to key markets including Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia. Strawberries have long been a popular choice among international visitors, with items such as chocolate-covered strawberries among the best-sellers at Shinsegae Duty Free, noted the travel retailer.
These homegrown products are offered at competitive duty-free prices, providing a unique shopping experience at the airport.
Fresh produce featured in this pop-up store is available only to travellers bound for destinations with import permits, such as Hong Kong and Singapore.
A Shinsegae Duty Free representative said: “We are thrilled to provide our customers with a unique shopping experience through the introduction of fresh produce. This initiative not only enhances our offerings but also promotes the excellence of Korean products abroad.
“We will continue to work towards curating high-quality, diverse products that meet our customers’ needs.” ✈
