The 100sq m space at Glasgow Airport offers 36 seats, with a further 80 available immediately outside the store in a communal seating area.

Its menu features pulled pork, chicken, beef or vegetable burritos, tacos and nachos. The drinks offer includes Frozen Margaritas and Mexican lagers.

Tortilla is SSP’s ninth F&B venue at Glasgow Airport, where it operates other brands including Starbucks, M&S Simply Food, Spinning Jenny Bar & Kitchen, Bird & Signet Bar & Kitchen and Burger King.

Speaking to The Moodie Davitt Report about the opening, AGS Airports Head of Retail Development (Food & Beverage) Craig Norton said his team had been keeping an eye on the success of Tortilla venues at London Gatwick and Bristol airports.

He told us: “With its proven winning formula in airports and the growth of the Mexican food scene within the city of Glasgow, we firmly believed that opening the first Tortilla in a Scottish airport would further enhance the eating and drinking options we have, with a cuisine we know our customers are looking for during their travels.

“The vibrancy of the brand – not just in their shop unit which looks and feels amazing – but also their social media content and following made Tortilla the perfect choice to unlock further engagement with our customers.” ‍
