“A win-win opportunity” – Roilti launches ride-share-based shopper loyalty concept

Roilti, the Sydney-based loyalty and incentivisation platform, has launched a programme based on a collaboration with ride-share businesses (including Uber) which benefits both users and travel retailers.

Roilti was set up in 2019 to specialise in shopper strategy, promotional marketing, SaaS (Software as a Service) development and compliance. The platform partners with global brands and retailers in the planning, setup and delivery of brand-aligned, high-conversion incentives designed to appeal to duty-free shoppers with time to browse and shop.

According to Roilti Sales Director Andrew Scrimgeour*, its collaboration with ride-share partners appeals to audiences who actively seek convenience in their everyday lives, “time-poor travellers who want convenience while in transit”.

He noted the Uber transportation system operates in over 70 countries and in 10,500 cities worldwide. Its services are widely used by travellers for both their outbound and inbound journeys and include Uber Eats food delivery.

“Roilti enables the planning and setup of highly effective retail mechanics that can be quickly and easily deployed in any country or airport to maximise duty-free retail basket sales,” Scrimgeour said.

The concept is based on travel retailers and brands using the Roilti system and offering customers ride-share vouchers depending on the amount they spend in the store.

Roilti manages, tracks and issues the vouchers instantly to the ride-share app and the customer can decide how and where to use the voucher currency.

“It’s a win-win opportunity,” Scrimgeour said. “The customers benefit through the voucher, and the travel retailer has the opportunity to increase both consumer engagement and shopper basket size. The retailer or brand can also capture important relevant insights on the shopper.

“This flexible incentive leverages the popularity of ride-share providers with 25 to 50-year-old consumers. The Roilti platform automates reward validation and delivery via an API link to the ride-share app, removing any need for management on the travel retailer’s side.

“Roilti has already been tried and tested by some of the world’s leading FMCG and consumer brands. It delivers smart, simple and cost-effective solutions that can be setup quickly and easily for multi-brand and travel retail locations,” he added.

“Our data-science-driven incentive programmes are designed to drive growth outcomes and provide deeper consumer insights, helping organisations to better understand and engage with their customer base.”
