UAE. Abu Dhabi Airports and Fujairah Airport have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) to develop an airport development master plan that will ensure the delivery of “an efficient and adequate” expansion programme for Fujairah International Airport.
The Department of Civil Aviation for Fujairah, which owns and operates Fujairah International Airport, intends to undertake an expansion programme to enhance the airport’s facilities. The MOC will see Abu Dhabi Airports assisting Fujairah Airport with the preparation of a list of proposed component projects that will form the expansion programme, and provide administrative assistance during construction.
Abu Dhabi Airports Chairman H.E Ali Majed Al Mansoori said: “Abu Dhabi Airports is always eager to support any initiative that will further develop the aviation infrastructure in the UAE and the region. [This] partnership will capitalise on the know-how that the company holds to support our peers in enhancing their facilities and further accommodating their growing demand.”
Department of Civil Aviation of the Emirate of Fujairah Chairman H.E. Mohammed Abdulla Al Salami said: “We are glad to sign this Memorandum of Cooperation today between Abu Dhabi Airports and the Department of Civil Aviation of the Emirate of Fujairah with regards to the development programme for Al Fujairah International Airport.
“Abu Dhabi Airports has all the necessary expertise in planning and managing airport expansion programmes which creates the perfect partnership. This type of cooperation will also support the UAE’s leading position in the aviation industry.”
