Accolade Wines has further boosted its New World portfolio with the acquisition of iconic Barossa Valley brand Grant Burge Wines. The purchase also includes the historic Krondorf Winery, Cellar Door, and the B&R Fine Wine Merchants business.
Accolade Wines General Manager Asia Pacific Michael East described the deal as an exciting buy for the company.

“The purchase of Grant Burge Wines, one of the top ten Australian wine companies, strengthens our domestic Australian portfolio in the critical >$15 glass market and provides our company with an excellent opportunity to grow sales of Grant Burge wines in our international markets,” he noted.
As part of the deal, Accolade welcomes around 80 new employees, including the Winemaking and Cellar Door teams based at Krondorf Winery in the Barossa, and the sales and distribution team from B&R based in Annandale, Sydney, and in state sales offices around the country.
Commercial Director Global Travel Retail Rupert Firbank commented: “This is an exciting move that brings further strength to our premium Australian portfolio, alongside such great names as Hardys, House of Arras, Houghton and Leasingham.
