ACI Europe event to focus on ‘challenging the business model’

EUROPE. The 24th ACI Europe Airport Commercial & Retail Conference and Exhibition 2015 (previously Airport Trading), which takes place in Milan on 21-23 April, will focus on “challenging the traditional business model”.

The two-day conference, which expects to attract around 400 senior airport executives, concessionaires, planners and buyers, will cover the following topics:

Brands designing their own airport shopping experience

Why only half of passengers buy at airports

How technology can be used to boost duty free and retail revenues

Competition for space for commercial and retail planning

Maximising underutilised, high yield non-aeronautical revenues

Day One includes the ACI Europe Commercial Forum Meeting, followed by the Welcome Reception in the evening.

Day Two’s Opening Session will feature welcome addresses and an ACI Europe State of the Industry address. The first working session will discuss what it would be like if global brands had free reign to build an airport shopping experience, while the second working session will discuss the competition for space in airports. The final session of Day Two will tackle how to make non-spenders spend.

Day Three will begin with an industry keynote speaker (to be announced shortly), followed by a session concentrating on the economics of commercial revenues. Day Three will be rounded off with a session on the “utopian airport journey”.

The event will also include extensive networking opportunities, with an opening cocktail, gala dinner and coffee breaks between sessions. There will also be tours of Milan Malpensa Airport on the final afternoon.

The Moodie Report is the event’s main Media Partner.
