How the new commercial zone will look at Palma de Mallorca |
SPAIN. AENA Aeropuertos has revealed its latest commercial plan for Palma de Mallorca Airport, which will feature an expanded duty free zone, new retail brands and an enhanced food & beverage offer.
AENA said: “This is an opportunity to transform the commercial offer at Palma de Mallorca,” noting the innovative designs anticipated from World Duty Free Group after it won the duty free concession, as well as the chance to introduce new brands to the airport and to enhance commercial occupancy in the terminal.
The airport’s revenue from duty free, other retail and food & beverage is expected to grow from €31 million in 2013 to €52 million by 2017, said AENA.
Retail space will be increased overall by +74%, to more than 6,000sq m.
The project includes the development of a 2,660sq m walk-through duty free store; two F&B zones of 1,200sq m and 300sq m; plus speciality stores offering fashion & accessories (500sq m), fashion & sports goods (382sq m), press (80sq m), local products (65sq m) and shoes (50sq m).
There will also be newly designed travel retail shops in the pier areas and in Arrivals.
In recent weeks AENA has revealed details of its expansion projects at Spain’s major airports, including Madrid and Barcelona.
