SOUTH KOREA. Duty Free Price Research has launched an AI-powered service to help consumers compare duty-free product prices online.
The Korean company has also partnered with Hyundai Glovis, the logistics arm of Hyundai Motor Group, to provide business-to-business duty-free support services tailored for corporate travellers.
“The needs of today’s shoppers and business travellers are far more complex and digital-first than ever before,” said Duty Free Price Research CEO Chang-Won Lee.
“Our AI engine marks a milestone not just in technology adoption, but in how we serve a rapidly evolving customer base.”

Launched in early 2024, the Duty Free Price Comparison application allows users to check real-time prices across major Korean online duty-free stores. The AI-powered engine has added key features:
- Intelligent price forecasting based on machine-learning models that analyse thousands of SKUs and predict price shifts
- Personalised shopping insights shaped by user behaviour and past purchases
- Real-time alerts for deals that match individual criteria and current market trends
The AI enhancement is designed to streamline the shopping process and help retailers better connect with informed, value-driven customers.
Duty Free Price Research’s partnership with Hyundai Glovis introduces a dedicated service model for corporate travellers, addressing common logistical challenges and streamlining the duty-free shopping experience. The programme includes:
- End-to-end purchase support, from product selection and payment to customs-compliant pickup
- Corporate integration with Hyundai Glovis’s existing travel and logistics systems
- Exclusive benefits, such as bulk purchase deals, express pickup and concierge service
The alliance aims to expand duty-free access for business travellers and tap into new opportunities across the corporate and MICE sectors.
According to the Korea Tourism Organization, the first quarter of 2025 saw a +35% year-on-year increase in outbound Korean travellers, while inbound foreign visitors rose +28%.
Recovery is especially pronounced in key markets such as China, Japan and across Southeast Asia.
While these figures suggest momentum, industry-wide challenges persist – especially around digital transformation, cross-border pricing transparency and diversified customer service offerings.
Duty Free Price Research is addressing these gaps by providing transparent market data that offers users up-to-date pricing information across multiple platforms.
It also equips customers with tools to make informed decisions, while delivering industry insights on price competitiveness and consumer trends to help shape brand strategies. ✈
