Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago names Hayden Newton as GM

Newton is currently a Director of the Board of the Airports Council International-Latin America and the Caribbean

TRINIDAD & TOBAGO. Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago has appointed Hayden Newton to the position of General Manager.

He will be tasked with implementing the authority’s strategic plan for the next five years.

Newton has been acting in the position of General Manager for more than two years, and previously held the portfolios of Corporate Secretary/Legal Advisor and Deputy General Manager – Corporate Services/Legal Advisor at the authority.

The authority said Newton had received regional and international recognition in the aviation sector for his advisory work on the development of the new airport in St Vincent and for his tutoring in the International Airport Professional (IAP) programme in air transport systems in Australia, Mozambique and the USA.

He also developed and tutored in the Aviation and Insurance Law elective of the Master of Science in Aviation Management at the University of West Indies in St Augustine.

Newton is currently a Director of the Board of the IAP Community of Practice and the Board of the Airports Council International-Latin America and the Caribbean.
