Airports of Thailand non-aeronautical revenues up almost +10% in first half

THAILAND. Airports of Thailand (AoT) has posted a +17.88% growth in net profit to THB8,803 million (US$262 million) for the first half of the financial year ended 31 March 2015.

Total revenues increased by +11.04% to THB23.23 billion (US$691 million) in the six-month period. Total revenues from sales or services – comprising both aeronautical and non-aeronautical revenues – hit THB22.17 billion (US$660 million), reflecting growth of +11.88% in the first half.

Aeronautical revenues, which make up 60% of total airport revenues, grew by +13.4% to THB13.31 billion (US$400 million). They include landing and parking charges, passenger service charges and aircraft service charges.

Non-aeronautical revenues, making up 40% of total airport revenues, reached THB8,855 million (US$263 million) – an increase of +9.67%. They comprise office and state property rents, service revenues and concession revenues. Concession revenues (which include duty free, food & beverage, car parking, etc.) made up the majority of non-aeronautical revenues, posting growth of +12.30% to reach THB5,723 million (US$170 million) in the first half.

Passenger traffic in the first half rose by +17.92% to reach 54.3 million.

During the second quarter, net profit grew +31.5% to THB4,897 million (US$146 million). Total revenues increased by +14.4% to THB12.15 billion (US$360 million), with revenues from sales or services reaching THB11.63 billion (US$350 million), a growth of +14.9%.

Second-quarter aeronautical revenues increased by +18.9% to THB7,035 million (US$210 million), while non-aeronautical revenues hit THB4,593 million (US$140 million) – a growth of +9.3%. Concession revenues increased by +11.3% to THB3,016 million (US$90 million) in the three-month period.
