Alain Barbet promoted to Chief Executive Officer at Pernod Ricard USA – 11/07/06

US. Alain Barbet, President and Chief Operating Officer, Pernod Ricard USA, has been named President and Chief Executive Officer, Pernod Ricard USA, effective July 1. He continues to report to Michel Bord, Chairman and CEO, Pernod Ricard Americas.

Barbet is based at Pernod Ricard USA headquarters, which will move this summer to expanded office space in Purchase, New York.

Over the past year Barbet led the integration of people and brands from the former Allied Domecq, which more than doubled the company’s size in the US.

He began his career in liquor with Pernod Ricard USA’s predecessor company, Austin-Nichols, as VP of Finance in May 1999. He was subsequently appointed Chief Financial Officer in September, 1999 and then named Chief Operating Officer for Austin-Nichols in August, 2000. He became CFO for Pernod Ricard North America in January, 2002.

Michel Bord assumed expanded responsibilities for the Americas Region earlier this year, and as a result recently relocated to the Montréal headquarters of Pernod Ricard Americas. He will continue to oversee Pernod Ricard USA, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, as well as the Malibu-Kahlúa International Co., and Pernod Ricard North America Travel Retail.
