Alfa Brands prepares new exclusive inflight products following IAADFS

Alfa Brands is finalising exclusive inflight products from Pillitteri Estates Winery and Nishi Pearls following the IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas in Orlando earlier this month.

Alfa Brands Operations Manager Amy Hildreth underlined the importance of the Orlando show. “It gives us a chance to meet with all our customers and present our full line to them. It is the ideal time to meet in this venue because most of the operators are making their selection for the season at this show,” she said.

In Orlando, Alfa Brands presented a wide range of products including Canadian Flowers Icewine from the Pillitteri Estates Winery.

Targeting the gifting market, Canadian Flowers is said to represent a new expression of art and wine. According to the winery, it is consistent with Pillitteri’s Reserve Icewine quality, featuring “vibrant” fruit characters of apricot and honey in the Vidal and strawberry and raspberry in the Cabernet. The 375ml Canadian Flowers is available in four varietals: Vidal Icewine, Cabernet Icewine, Vidal Late Harvest and Cabernet Late Harvest. Put together, its presentation boxes, designed by 16 year old Canadian artist Jessie Shou, create a mural.

At the IAADFS show, Hildreth said that the company had received a lot of positive reaction to Canadian Flowers Icewine and new listings were under discussion. Hildreth added that a three-pack of Icewine, introduced by Pillitteri in Canadian duty free stores and in selected US airports, had “revitalised the Icewine category” for Alfa Brands and prompted “unbelievable sales”.

Nishi Pearls, which named Alfa Brands as its North American agent last year, introduced self-service concepts, including a tower and counter top units, developed exclusively for the travel retail industry. A wide product range includes classic designs and stackable bracelets and rings, featuring cultured fresh water pearls set in rhodium plated silver. All items are sold with pouches, a cleaning cloth and information on the pearls.

New lines in Alfa Brands’ Jelly Belly range included a Jelly Belly Super Hero Collection in 2.8oz ‘grab & go’ bags and a range of organic jelly beans.

Alfa Brands also highlighted new packaging for King Henry’s snacks, which is expected to be ready for shipment by June, and introduced new brand Pretzel Pete, which has mini pretzels available in three flavours: Smoky Barbecue, Salted Caramel and Cheese Pizza.
