Allen Hong brings a wealth of duty free experience to Hanwha Galleria |
SOUTH KOREA. Allen Hong has joined prominent Daejeon-based department store retailer Hanwha Galleria as Duty Free Retail Division Director, effective 8 December.
The highly experienced executive was formerly Merchandising Director at Walkerhill Duty Free, a role he has held since June 2012 and left on 5 December.
Prior to Walkerhill, the much-respected Hong was Chief Buyer/Merchandising Team at Lotte Duty Free.
Hong told The Moodie Report that Hanwha Galleria is eager to expand its duty free retail business, which includes the duty free concession at Jeju International Airport acquired earlier this year.
He also indicated that the retailer is “strongly interested” in the upcoming Incheon International Airport duty free retail tender and new duty free licence opportunities in downtown Seoul.
