UK. The waiting is finally over for the 3,000 Alpha employees nominated for Alpha Heroes 2005 – the retailer’s highly ambitious and successful staff awards programme. After an intensive three-day judging session, the judges have announced their final shortlist for this year’s awards.
The list has been narrowed down to 300 finalists across 24 categories. Winners will be announced at an awards dinner on 4 April at the ICC, Birmingham.
Avril Appleyard, group communications director for Alpha Airports Group, said: “This year we opened the awards up to our entire UK, Jersey and Ireland business and have had a fantastic response. The number of nominations received was truly staggering – more than twice the amount received in 2004 – and all were of an excellent standard.
“With such a high calibre of entries and such commitment and enthusiasm from the Alpha staff, this year’s event promises to be another resounding success.
