Altia and Codorníu sign regional cooperation agreement for key Nordic and Baltic states – 09/03/09

NORDIC/BALTIC STATES. Spanish winemaker Codorníu has announced a partnership agreement with wines & spirits service company Altia Plc. It grants exclusive rights to the sales and distribution of the Codorníu Group brands in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Baltic travel retail markets.

“We are delighted to begin a partnership with the Codorníu Group. The Codorníu Group portfolio of brands is appreciated and enjoyed by customers and consumers across our business area. We strongly believe that our unique consumer knowledge of each of the Nordic and Baltic markets combined with the distribution power and the excellence of our local sales and marketing companies will deliver significant growth for the Codorníu Group brands in the years to come,” said Altia Senior Vice President of Supplier Management Tom Alakari.

Codorníu Group International Sales Director Juan Castell added: “It is our pleasure to start our relationship with a leading company in the Nordic area. This distribution agreement will boost our business and foster further the development of our brands.”

Altia is a service company producing, distributing, marketing and selling own and supplier brands, including international brands Koskenkorva and Maximus. With annual sales of almost €500 million Altia employs over 1,000 people in the Nordic and Baltic regions.
