MACAU/QATAR. Qatar Duty Free officially unveiled its new brand identity at the 2009 ACI Airport Business & Trinity Forum in Macau last week.
The Doha-based travel retailer was a Platinum sponsor of the event and took the opportunity to roll out its new, sleek logo, part of an extensive rebranding initiative.
The company, a subsidiary of Qatar Airways, noted that the rebranding has involved much research and creative orientation. It has been done by Qatar Duty Free’s in-house marketing and design team in conjunction with an international branding agency.
Marketing Manager Devesh Kuwadekar said: “We believe that Qatar Duty Free as a brand has evolved over the years and is in a position to step into the next decade with renewed vigour and excitement.”
He told The Moodie Report that the rebranding programme will result in all the shop floor signage at Doha International Airport being changed. All the new-look entrances will be ready before the year end.
Staff uniforms will also go through a major change. Care has been taken to make the uniforms appear classy and smart, while being comfortable to wear.
