INDIA. Amrut Distilleries has partnered with Kreol Travel Retail and Monika Alcobev to unveil the ultra-rare Amrut Expedition single malt whisky at Cochin Duty Free in Cochin International Airport, Kerala.
Described as India’s oldest and rarest single malt, the whisky was aged in European sherry and American ex-bourbon casks and is limited to just 75 bottles worldwide.
Showcasing Indian whisky craftsmanship, the expression is packaged in a handmade heirloom-style case, with each bottle individually engraved and complemented by a bespoke silver peg measure.
Priced above US$10,000, Amrut Expedition reinforces Indian single malt’s status in the global premium whisky market.
The release also celebrates the distillery’s 75-year history and the leadership that established India as a key player in the global spirits industry.
Kreol Group CEO Lal Arakulath said, “We thank Kunal Patel, Managing Director of Monika Alcobev, for his support to make this launch memorable.”
Cochin International Airport Managing Director S Suhas added, “We are very happy to present the Amrut Expedition collectors’ item in Cochin Duty Free.” ✈
