Areas opens island first with Subway franchise at Ibiza Airport

SPAIN. Travel restaurateur Areas has unveiled fast-food restaurant franchise Subway at Ibiza Airport. It is the American multinational brand’s first venue on the popular holiday island.

Areas said it expects the sandwich and wrap specialist eatery to be “a resounding success”, given Subway’s popularity among young people.

The new Subway at Ibiza Airport features four self-order stations to help drive an efficient passenger service

To promote job opportunities, Areas is organising ‘Job Days’ with the goal of hiring 40 people to join its Ibiza Airport team. The next is scheduled for 18 June with an innovative event format which Areas said will turn interviews into a “unique and attractive experience for young people”.

Areas People, Culture and Organization Director Òscar Cuadrado commented: “Areas is committed to recruiting the very best talent in food & beverage in Spain, encouraging teamwork and excellence in service and customer satisfaction.

“We’re very excited to create strategic partnerships like this one, which will undoubtedly be of benefit to the community and to our customers.”

Areas also operates Subway venues at Alicante and Palma de Mallorca airports. ‍
