SPAIN. Leading travel services concessionaire Ãreas has opened what it hails as the first airport lounge club in Ibiza, cementing the island’s reputation as one of the world’s party destinations.

Measuring 260sq m and located in the airside zone of Ibiza Airport, The F*** Me I’m Famous Lounge Club by Cathy & David Guetta aims to be first port of call for Ibiza visitors during the summer season, offering the fun, exclusiveness and services of the island’s best clubs.
The club is named after the eponymous electronic music sessions organised by the husband and wife duo on the island for years. A Grammy award-winning artist/producer/DJ, David Guetta has sold over three million albums and ranked number one in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll in 2011.
The new opening breaks down the barrier of typical club opening times and locations, with an “elegant, relaxed and somewhat irreverent” design, Ãreas said.
Travellers are welcomed by a wall lit in an intense fuchsia colour before they walk through an LED entrance. A corridor dominated by the colours decorating the club – red, black and white – and a bright, glittery floor leads them to four differentiated zones. Upon entry they are greeted by a white bar where all customer orders are taken, whether they are for consumption inside the club or to take away.
The DJ booth and dancefloor are the heart of the club, which also has a lounge/chill-out zone with views of the Ses Salines Natural Park. The DJ booth will feature a selection of the best DJs of the moment while the dancefloor provides an observatory for watching aircraft taking off and landing.
Low tables and upholstered sofas dot the establishment, which will serve cocktails and tapas on the menu. There is also a space devoted to merchandising for visitors who want to bring home souvenirs.
One lounge club, four ambiences throughout the day
“Music, casual food and spectacular views are the three ingredients that make this lounge club another venue not to be missed on the Ibiza party circuit,” Ãreas said.
The F*** Me I’m Famous Lounge Club will play four styles of music throughout the day: ambient chill-out music will be played from 6am to 2pm, followed by funk and Latin house until 7pm, house and deep house until just before midnight and tech-house and electro-house until 6am.
Lighting and food blend with the music to create different ambiences, evolving with the day, Ãreas explained. The morning ambience (Sunrise session) emulates the Ibizan dawn with its lighting – bright touches contributing to bringing out the club’s large windows and the relaxing views of the airport runways and the Ses Salines Natural Park. This ambience is completed with light, healthy dishes to help people start the day.
As the morning progresses, the club’s lighting takes on the increasingly reddish shades of the Ibizan evening. This is complemented by an afternoon menu of dishes such as Rap & Wrap (a roast chicken wrap with nachos and guacamole sauce) and The Burger Collection (a selection of six mini-burgers with fries) as the club moves on to the Beach Club and Sunset sessions. The Club session in the late evening features an extensive menu of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, inviting clubbers to take to the dancefloor.
Besides the F*** Me I’m Famous Lounge Club by Cathy & David Guetta, Ãreas has also opened a Farggi ice cream parlour at Ibiza Airport to add to the recently opened Expression Lavazza café.
