ARI Ireland launches online website for The Loop retail brand

DAA has launched theloop.ie as its shopping home page

IRELAND. Through ARI Ireland, Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) last night launched its online shopping website, www.theloop.ie with a major media event at Dublin city’s Dylan Hotel.

The website allows passengers to purchase before they fly, with the option to collect at Dublin, Cork or Shannon airports on departure or on their arrival back home. Passengers arriving at the airport are reminded via text message to pick up their goods.

The range mirrors that available at The Loop stores (ARI Ireland’s retail brand) at the three airports, with over 4,000 items available. In a major coup for ARI Ireland and The Loop, it is the first airport retailer in the world to sell Estée Lauder brand MAC through the online channel.

The Loop Head of Retail Jean Ann Taylor said: “We now offer an extensive range of products online, which allows passengers to browse and buy luxury brands, in their own time.

“Online purchases can be collected at the airport before you fly, or alternatively passengers can avail of our Shop and Collect service. With Shop and Collect we store purchases free of charge and a customer can collect on their return to Dublin, Cork or Shannon Airport. This is one of the key benefits of shopping at The Loop and now online, so baggage restrictions are never a problem with this great service.”

Skincare and fragraces are expected to be a big contributor to the online business

Taylor added: “We also carry a range of exclusive travel sets from leading luxury brands, which make amazing gifts and provide our customers with something different that they can’t pick up on the high street. The uniqueness of the travel sets really appeals to customers and, together with our value promise, is a strong point of differentiation for theloop.ie.”

Passengers travelling from Cork or Shannon airports, where the retail offer in the stores is smaller than at Dublin, can still order from the full range online.

Social media is a central feature of the brand building for the new website, with Facebook and Twitter offering regular updates on special offers, new product launches and competitions.
