US. Airport Revenue News (ARN) has announced the 2011 winners of its Best Airport & Concessionaire Awards.
Unveiled at the annual Airport Revenue Conference & Exhibition held last week in National Harbor, Maryland, at the Gaylord National, the results will be published in ARN’s May 2011 issue.
Nominating and judging for the 2011 awards was conducted entirely online, with over 1,400 votes cast in five airport categories and 15 specialty retail, news and gifts and food and beverage categories. As in previous years, airport executives voted for concession companies and concessionaires voted for airport programmes.
“Every year, the bar for excellence is raised higher and higher as airports revamp their programmes and offer fresh, high quality brands and concepts to the traveling public,” said ARN President and CEO Pauline Armbrust. “The winners of this year’s competition faced fierce contenders and should be commended for achieving the “˜best’ status, especially through these difficult times.”
