MEXICO. Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR) announced this week that total passenger traffic for the month of November 2003 was up +16.2% from the comparable period last year to 881,747.
Cancún airport drove up the overall figures with growth of +18.3% to 603,739 – an increase of over 93,000 in the month compared to a year ago.
During November the recovery strengthened with traffic growth figures on a weekly basis for all ASUR airports climbing from +12.0% in the week commencing 29 October to +21.2% in week commencing 19 November.
The figures in the announcement reflect comparisons between the 28-day period from 29 October to 25 November 2003, and the equivalent period in 2002. Transit and general aviation passengers are excluded.
