NEW ZEALAND. Auckland Airport has invited “globally recognised, proven duty‑free operators” to register their interest in the upcoming duty‑free retail concession Request for Proposals process for a duty‑free licence commencing in the second half of 2025.
Auckland Airport is the premier gateway to New Zealand, serving more than 18.3 million passengers (to 31 March 2024), of which 9.9 million are international passengers.
The company said the airport enjoys a diverse traveller mix, including a strong and stable trans‑Tasman market; strong New Zealand Chinese resident and Chinese visitors; and growth from key emerging markets.
“We have a clear ambition to build a thriving aviation precinct and we welcome duty‑free operators that will further grow and develop the already successful Auckland Airport duty‑free proposition,” it said.
To register interest, please contact: Auckland Airport Head of Retail Lucy Thomas at dutyfreetender@aucklandairport.co.nz
Registrations close 31 May 2024, no later than 4pm (New Zealand time).
