Plush toy specialist Aurora World will unveil its Winter 2019 collection, which includes extended and new ranges, at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition (Green, K67).
The new collection will be available from November until February 2020.
Additions to the Sparkle Tales line-up include Igloo and Eira Polar Bears, Jingle and Noelle Reindeer, Blizzard and Alpen Husky Dogs, Grayson Wolf and Lumi and Misty Penguin. The toys are available in 7in and 12in sizes.
Sparkle Tales also offers an on-trend Tutti Unicorn (7in) and a variety of key chains and other characters. Prices range from €5 to €25.
Glitzy Tot is a new line for Aurora and features two 8in pink or white Reindeers.
Aurora World Travel Retail Sales Manager Garry Stoner emphasised the relevance of a seasonal plush collection for retailers.
“Last year, Aurora saw a +39% sales uplift in the winter period compared to the previous year,” he said. “We can attribute this to the fact that more retailers are giving increased space to the plush category over the festive period. We calculated that over 150 airport stores tried the concept for the first time last winter, increasing average plush spend from approximately €11.55 to €13.99.”
Shaun the Sheep is also new to the Aurora line-up. Inspired by the popular animated series about a sheep who thinks and acts like a person, the collection includes 8 and 12in Shaun the Sheep, Shaun the Sheep Backpack and Shaun the Sheep Key clip.
Stoner said the line attracted great interest at this year’s TFWA Asia Pacific. The Farmageddon: A Shaun the Sheep Movie, which is due to be released next month (October), is expected to raise further interest in the toy and accessories range, he added.
