Avolta, Royal Caribbean and Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection speakers join The Retail Day lineup at Seatrade Cruise Global

USA/INTERNATIONAL. More senior cruise industry executives have joined an already powerful speaker lineup for The Retail Day at Seatrade Cruise Global.

As reported, The Retail Day – a series of conference sessions dedicated to retail at sea – takes place at Miami Beach Convention Center on 10 April, and is co-organised by The Moodie Davitt Report. Seatrade Cruise Global is the premier annual gathering of the cruise industry worldwide and runs from 8-11 April.

The partnership between Seatrade Cruise Global and The Moodie Davitt Report reflects the fast-growing importance of retailing to cruiseline revenues and its role in enhancing the guest experience.

Avolta Head of Cruise Division Gian Botteri joins a session on the theme of ‘Embracing Sustainability in Cruise Retail’. As reported earlier today, the retailer has just agreed new contracts on four Norwegian Cruise Line ships and renewed its agreements on 14 others.

Also joining this panel is Bourne Group International Project Development Manager Jason Hatfield, whose company is a leader in managing interior design development and branding projects for the cruise and hospitality industry.

Already confirmed for the sustainability panel is Diageo Head of Cruise & Inflight Emily Lively.

In other key speaker additions, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection Chief Product Officer Mark Lockwood joins a session about the future for luxury retail in the cruise sector. Already announced on this panel are Effy Jewelry Executive Vice President Jennifer Patience, MSC Cruises SVP Onboard Revenue Stefano Menegotto and Starboard VP Merchandising Sherrie Day.

A discussion on how shore-based and cruise retail compare and complement each other, alongside a focus on destination retailing, will feature Avolta Head of Commercial Cruise Division Priscila Gonzales and Royal Caribbean Group AVP International Destination Development Karina Santini.

They join already confirmed speakers Global Ports Holding VP, Business Development Retail & Ancillary Andres Villalever and DENIZEN Destination Managing Director Estelle Baumann.

As previously reported, the conference will begin at 10 am on Wednesday 10 April with opening remarks by moderators The Moodie Davitt Report President Dermot Davitt and Seatrade Retail Ambassador (and Reklaim Global SVP Revenue – Travel & Hospitality) Nadine Heubel, followed by a one-to-one keynote interview with Holland America Line President Gustavo Antorcha.

A cruise ‘Trinity’ panel will then discuss the health of the onboard retail business, alongside challenges and opportunities. Speakers include Carnival Cruise Line Vice President Guest Commerce & Onboard Revenue Luis Terife, Starboard Cruise Services President & CEO Lisa Bauer and LVMH Beauty Managing Director Travel Retail Americas André Marzloff.

A session titled ‘Nurturing our People – The Retail View’ will include Harding+ Senior Vice President Patrick Molloy, Heinemann Americas Director, HR Natalia Rolle Phillips and Starboard Chief People Experience Officer John McGirl.

The conference will be followed by The Retail Day Reception at 4pm, in association with Duty Free Global and brand partners The House of Sōmrus cream liqueur, Kurvball whiskey, Cazcabel tequila and Isle of Wight Distillery’s Mermaid gin.
