GERMANY. As it prepares for the TFWA Asia Pacific exhibition next month, German skincare brand Babor has reported a successful attendance at Cosmoprof 2006 and a surge of interest in its skincare products across the Asia Pacific region.

Earlier this month, Babor attended the major beauty fair Cosmoprof in Bologna with two stands: a corporate booth and a separate stand for its Italian distributor Spa Service.

During the event the company registered visitors from across the world, including Japan, South Korea, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, India, Pakistan and Hong Kong in the Asian region; Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Egypt, Israel and Lebanon in the Middle East and Africa; Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil in South America; and Russia, Poland, Croatia, Italy, France, Germany, Greece, Belgium and the Netherlands in Eastern and Western Europe.

Following its successful showing in Italy, Babor is now poised to present its top-end duty free assortment of skincare and spa products at the upcoming TFWA event in Singapore (Stand number: C9).

Commenting on the May event, Babor Cosmetic Asia Pacific Managing Director Andres Sardi said: “Since our incorporation to the TFWA as a permanent member last year, Babor has developed across the region focusing on its own high-end duty free and retail assortment. On this occasion, we will be focusing, among others, on new launches from the lines Cleansing, Babor Trends and SeaCreation.”

Asia Pacific upsurge

Babor has reported a growing distribution of its extensive product range in the Asia Pacific region, including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong and mainland China.

In a major launch event held in Hong Kong last month, the Babor brand was highlighted in an advertisement on the outdoor TV of the London Plaza, one of the most prestigious areas in Kowloon. The hourly slots showcased the company’s products for young to mature skin, in addition to day care lines and specific 28-day treatments, namely the HSR 28 Perfect Effect, the Pure line and the Babor Cleansing Range.

Also in Hong Kong, Babor sponsored an Easter event held by Fruits in Suits, a 400-strong professional networking organisation for local residents and expatriates.

Last month, Babor’s network-wide promotions featured three new lines: Mimical Control + Q10, Body Line Thermal and Moist Intense Cream.
