Ballantine’s, Inniskillin, Estée Lauder, Chanel, Hawaiian Sun and Swatch lead Korean Air duty free sales in July

Swatch, featured on the cover of the July inflight magazine, led sales in the accessories and miscellaneous category

SOUTH KOREA. Korean Air’s inflight duty free sales rankings by value for July were underpinned by the continued strength of some of the carrier’s traditional favourites – Inniskillin Icewine, Ballantine’s Scotch whisky and Estée Lauder cosmetics.

Korean Air is the world’s leading inflight retailer, having posted sales of US$183 million in 2008. Uniquely it produces a new inflight sales magazine each month.

Ballantine’s led the Scotch whisky rankings, followed by fellow Pernod Ricard brand Royal Salute and Diageo’s Johnnie Walker.

Inniskillin Icewine (handled in duty free by Imagination Unlimited International, together in South Korea with local agent Brandepot) ranked highest in sales by value among non-Scotch brands, followed by Camus and The Macallan.
